It is smack dab mid January and we are experience a sweet spring warming. A gentleman at church kindly referred to it as a “Chinook,” a warming wind off of the pacific. Well, whatever it is, it is in the process of melting all our snow and ice, a bit bitter, yet sweet too.
With the holidays behind us, we have put our noses to the millstone once again and are back into or normal rhythm: school work, building, lots of sheetrock, cooking, lots of cooking, cleaning, afternoon walks and quad rides, Asher taking drivers ed, Wilson starting second semester of college classes, and Liberty back at piano lessons. Work is good but, you know the sayings, “work hard, play hard” and “all work and no play makes Jared a dull boy” we try to follow these wise words. So, off we gondolaed, not sure that’s a word, up Silver Mountain to ski and snowboard. It was definitely not in the midst of a Chinook there. Burrr! We will definitely be going up again. We have some quick learners in the ranks.
“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:3-6
