An unusual, but sweet senior year, culminated this month for our second born, Wilson Isaiah Reidt.
He agreed to launch out with us on our adventure to Idaho last May. Knowing full well that this transition would be difficult, being his senior year in high school, we tried to accommodate his dreams and desires as much as possible, but he still had to continually view this year as an opportunity, and not focus on all he left behind. After 12 years of Christian school attendance, with one crazy year of homeschool smack in the middle, he had to adjust to a new way of schooling. We know that school was more than books, a diploma, or class attendance to Wil, as it is to most kids. It’s friends, sports, being known somewhere other than at home. This was the adjustment that proved to be difficult. The academic side of things was easy, the emotional, not so much. Only once do I recall him expressing the difficulty of this change. He quickly recovered and dove into, what he calls, “his head start in life and escape from high school early.” He is always looking at the positive.
Here are some highlights of his year.
Wilson enrolled in NW Christian’s distance learning program to complete his one credit needed and attain a diploma. They also gave him the opportunity to play varsity soccer and be awarded “most valuable player.” We are so thankful for NW Christian in Spokane.
Time spent outdoors learning new hobbies, like quad riding and snowboarding.
New found love of golf. Many spring evenings of practice at The Wolf Lodge.
Every evening, Wilson found his way to his computer where he and sweetheart, Nicole, talked about the day and built relationally over a great distance. He took several trips home to see her in real life too.

We are so very proud of you Wilson. You have grown into a man of much character and strength. May all the 2014 graduates find their place in serving Christ; may that be their goal, above any career or self pursuit. God is doing something in the hearts of the coming generations. So to you we say, “Go with God!”
